KMF – With a Passion for Your Business

Over the years, KMF has become one of the leaders in the microfinance sector in Central Asia. Today, KMF is the largest microfinance organization in Kazakhstan.

About Us

KMF’s journey began on November 20, 1997. On that day, in Taldykorgan, we disbursed loans to the first three groups. Each client received 7,500 tenge, which at the time was equivalent to 100 US dollars.

It was a challenging time; many Kazakhs were out of work and attempting to start their own businesses. Obtaining a loan from a bank was nearly impossible – loans were typically reserved for large, established companies and even then, only with collateral.

Our model of providing small loans quickly gained popularity with the public. Clients began to trust us, and we, in turn, trusted them. Since then, more than 700,000 citizens have become KMF clients, and we have disbursed loans totaling over 1.9 trillion tenge. The majority of our borrowers are entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector, driving production and creating jobs – forming an entire economy that benefits our society.

Support for Women Entrepreneurs

Supporting women entrepreneurs is a key priority for KMF. From the very beginning of our operations, we have been committed to expanding financing opportunities for women in business.

We support women through special lending programs developed in collaboration with international financial organizations. Together with our corporate fund, KMF-Demeu, we organize events for female entrepreneurs, such as training sessions, workshops, and meetings in the “business breakfast” format. These events are completely free of charge and are open to everyone, whether they already run a business or are just starting their entrepreneurial journey.
