The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) recognized KMF microfinance institution for its success in implementation of sustainable development projects in the field of gender and economic inclusion.
Shalkar Zhussupov, the Chairman of KMF Management Board "I am glad that our efforts have been recognized by our long-standing and strategic partner. “This year we have been actively financing our target groups of Kazakhstani population: rural residents and women who found themselves in a vulnerable position due to a decrease in business activity and in income as a consequence”.
Currently, in addition to the "Women in business" project, KMF is also implementing other projects aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs, including in rural areas - a borrower support program that has reached tens of thousands of micro entrepreneurs in Kazakhstan.
One of KMF’s most important projects aimed at women was the subsidy program that allowed businesswomen taking out microloans with half reduced interest rate. This subsidy program will run until the end of 2020.
